Canada, eh?
We visited Calgary, Alberta in October, 2007. There is a lot to do in the city and in surrounding areas. There are a variety of tourist attractions, with the Rockies just off to the west...and the Badlands just east of town. Below are some pictures and descriptions of what we experienced.
Heading northeast of Calgary (on Highway 9), it looks much like Kansas.

These are the Badlands, and this is Horseshoe Canyon.

Not far past Horseshoe Canyon is the town of Drumheller.

In Drumheller is the Royal Tyrrell Museum.

A steppe mammoth (an extinct species of elephant) is one of the attractions at the museum.

Beyond Drumheller, but not too far, are the hoodoos.
