We visited Calgary,
Alberta in October, 2007. There is a lot to do in the city and in
surrounding areas. There are a variety of tourist attractions, with
the Rockies just off to the west...and the Badlands just east of
town. Below are some pictures and descriptions of what we
experienced. |

In the picture: Here are a few extra shots, starting with
another look at Calgary. Deerfoot Trail (in the foreground),
which runs north-south, is the "Number 2". Click to enlarge. |

In the picture: This is downtown Calgary looking north on
Centre Street (from the Calgary Tower). The Hyatt (lower
right) is where we stayed for a few days. About five blocks to
the north is Chinatown (where we recommend the Silver Dragon
restaurant). Click to enlarge. |

In the picture: Welcome back to Olympic Park, and a starting
gate at the bobsled track. It sure looks like Winter, but
temperatures were in the 50s (Fahrenheit). Click to enlarge. |

In the picture: Banff looks a little better here without all
of the construction (which is one block to the east). Click to enlarge. |

In the picture: This is a suspension bridge we checked out
between Drumheller and the hoodoos (in the town of Rosedale). Click to enlarge. |

|
In the picture: If you ever decide to dine at the Calgary
Tower (at the revolving Panorama Room), you will probably have
your picture taken. We did. By the way, the food was
outstanding! Click to enlarge. |
